A few days late :)

So, I don't know if anyone knew, but we went on vacay & are currently hanging out in Colorado. :) 

I didn't intend to take a vacay from blogging, but it just happened. We have been having a blast with family & friends. 

We went to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo on Thursday...tried to get my nose frozen off while walking around, lol. The morning  was still pretty cold, but we had a good time. There weren't many people there so I really enjoyed that. We all I know that I don't really do large crowds. So  it was pretty cool. We started out by feeding the giraffes, and ended with feeding them again. It is just too freaking neat, I know Maddie & I really enjoyed it. 

We also spent a while at the rhino area. We hung around for the trainee demonstration & Maddie was enthralled! 

She was the little girl waving her arm around & trying to answer ever question, even when she didn't really know the answer. Silly girl! And she asked a ton of questions. The poor trainer was probably glad to see us go. Lol, but she was super pt with all if Maddie's questions. 

I really love that zoo. :)

And we have been hanging out & having fun with family. Maddie might be getting a little bit spoiled by Aunt Ruth & Uncle Rich...maybe ;)

Overall having fun. And we went shopping for Broncos everything. We bought a few items, most notable being the Bronco-head. So now she has this one to go along with the cheesehead. I'll have to get a pic with her wearing it during the game tomorrow. 

Well, we are getting ready for a Christmas party & Maddie has a date with Santa! Have fun!

This is a short blog since I'm doing last minute things to get ready for our flight tomorrow. We are all excited & ready for Colorado. :) 

I need some down time away from work & stress. 

Oh yea! I got my bonafide laminated card that says I finished TB Chemotherapy today!! No more TB tests for me! :) 

And I said goodbye to my sweet grandma nurse. She is retiring at the end of this month. She really did turn into a nice lady. :) 

So the TB crap is officially behind me! Yay!

Happy Monday everyone. I guess it's a good thing I'm not too interested in this MNF game, pretty done in from work...and then shivering my butt off out to my car. I guess I missed the memo that said the temp was gonna be 25 degrees colder when I left work than when I had arrived. I wished I had something more protective than my light jacket. And can I say...Thank The Lord for heated seats!!

I had a good day with good coworkers & better friends. :) 

Something came up in conversation today...I want to know how unethical people sleep at night. Are they missing some part in their brain, or do they just have a switch that they can turn on or off? How can they intentionally set out to hurt people & then go home & have a normal family life? 

This isn't about any one person in particular, just thinking about actions of others & it just baffles me. 

I mean, seriously...I don't know how I can feel extremely guilty about something as small as unintentionally hurting someones feelings, or accidentally taking something from someone else....and other people go on as if nothing happened when they seriously & intentionally try to hurt another. There is no way that I could sleep at night. Really. On the not-very-often occasion that I would take my vocera (small walkie-talkie like phone at work) home accidentally, only to discover it about a half mile from the hospital when it beeps...I have so much guilt if I don't turn around & take it back then. For reals. It's silly, but I think of how crappy it is when we are short of them & hate to add that frustration to someone else. 

 I guess that God has a purpose for us all & even those people are put on the world for a reason. I still don't get it though. 

Don't get me wrong, I break the rules from time to time...like speeding (sorry) or  not paying every bill on time. Or maybe drinking & acting like a fool! :) 

It was just a question I had asked another today & it was rolling around in my head on the drive home. So I thought I would throw it out here for my friends & family to ponder. Isn't this world we live in amazing? 

Ok, I need to hit the sack, another day another $ tomorrow. So, goodnight friends! Sleep tight!

So I missed a day...

Ok, I didn't blog yesterday. That's the first time I missed since I started blogging. Hmmm...you would think I was partying or something. 

Nope, no such luck. Just didn't blog & worked on Christmas decorations. And didn't even realize that I forgot! 

And spent today at work cuddling with a cute baby. :) I do have the best job ever. 

And made it home just after kickoff, so I'm enjoying the Broncos game! 

I can't party it up or anything, gotta work tomorrow. 

I just tucked in Maddie, & now I'm going to get back to my Game! Goodnight friends!

Ok, I still haven't tried to access the blog from a computer so that I can add a new one, :)

I had a great day...went & did family pics with an amazing photographer. Then went to dinner with Payton at Chuys. Yum yum... Creamy jalapeño :) 

And just got home. Two Mexican martinis later & I am ready to crash out, lol.

Sorry that I don't have much to say. We worked on the Christmas tree a little more, but mostly were just happy that cousin Payton was here.

It was a great day with family & great food! ;) 

I am very thankful for my life & the incredible family that I am a part of. 

We came home afterwards and put up the Christmas tree. Maddie has been begging for weeks, but I told her we had to wait til Thanksgiving was over. 

Here is my newest ornament... It was a present from a super sweet friend for my birthday! Thanks Stef! Love you!

Thanksgiving Eve

Three days in a row for a NICU nurse is brutal on the hands. Especially during cold weather. I am ready for a couple days off to relax with family. And let my poor red, cracked hands heal. 

And eat lots of turkey :)

So, I guess I'll try again tomorrow. I want to thank everyone for the well wishes & encouragement today & my sweet gifts from Dr. Hunt. She really rocks! :)

It was a great day #1 post TB meds. 

Unfortunately it is only day 2 of 3 & my supervisor worked me to the bone today ;)

But first...have you all see the new "Jurassic World" movie trailer? It looks awesome! I had no idea they were making another movie. I think I may have to see it!

This is my very last dose of Rifampin! WooHoo!! :) It is almost surreal...this is the end of this 209 day ordeal (well actually it was longer but this is just the med part that the numbers are counting) 

I have an appt next week with my dept of health nurse to get my fancy-schmancy card! :) I think I may need a t-shirt ;)

I am so glad this is finished. I am thankful that the TB exposure was discovered and that I was able to do the meds before I became active & infected others. I would have felt terrible if that had happened. Everything happens for a reason, or so I am told. I guess I'll never know how I was exposed or where. But I hope that whoever exposed me is alive & well & medicated. :) 

I just finished reading a Dr.Seus book to Maddie before bed, so please don't mind me if my sentences don't sound right or run together. My head is still spinning with all the rhymes. 

I had a good day at work with an awesome coworker...and some pretty cute babies :) I am tired & ready to hit the sack now. And today was just the 1st day of 3. How do I do this to myself? Good question. I see Starbucks in my not to distant future...let's say 9 hrs from now. But right now it's time for some shut eye! 

Fear not my friends... I will continue to bore you with stories even though this is done. As soon as I come up with a name for my new blog I will write under it...otherwise I will continue writing on this one.

And it's Football Sunday! 

Man alive!! The Denver game really really tried my patience & sanity! Lol

So what happened to the Denver defense? I guess they forgot they had a real game tonight? 

I'm just glad that the Broncos won. I think my poor Sadie-girl was nervous with my yelling at the TV. Thankfully Maddie was outside with Daddy. 

I made a pork roast that slow-cooked in the oven all day, and also some homemade bread, along with the fixings. So we are all stuffed, good practice run for Thanksgiving. :)

I guess my Rifampin is wanting to leave a lasting impression...I've had a bad headache today. Yuck. Or it's allergies, it hurts too much to overthink it, so I'll just blame the Rifampin. Sounds like a plan.

Well  I'm gonna watch "Peyton's brother" (as per Maddie) play the Cowgirls & try to ignore this headache.

It was a super long day at work today, and I am beat.

I don't really have much to say...I guess I'm too tired to think. :) 

The rain was crazy on the way home, and I could barely drive 25-30mph on 29 because it was coming down so hard & there was so much water on the road. So, I white-knuckled it & it was a longer trip than normal, that's prob what tired me out. 

Well, anyways, I  am cuddled up with Maddie watching Curious George. Daddy is prob about to join us so I'll finish up here. Goodnight friends! Stay dry & sleep tight!

And my follow up with my dept of health nurse is Dec 2. It should be my last appt with her, and I will get my handy-dandy card that says No More TB tests for me! 

Woo hoo! 

Today has been busy busy... Including a trip to the library to get the new Stephen King book! :) I got three more audio books also for the car, seeing as how I'm working 5 out of the next 6 days. So, I'll be in the car a lot. And won't be able to go back to the library until after I get back from Colorado! Speaking of which...we will be heading up there soon! Maddie is ready for some snow! And I am ready for some Laughing Lab!! 

And for the record, we are not going up there just so I can stalk Peyton.... I promise! :) So all my friends can stop saying that. 

It has also been a frustrating day. Sometimes it feels like people have no respect for others time & effort. My time off is mine...and precious & few. I feel like these last few days have been a blur & that there wasn't really any time off. And it's time to work again. I have to say that I  love my work. I just love my family time more. 

Ok, end of rant.

5 more days peeps!! :) I'm so excited! I want to feel normal again! 

And, I survived my mammogram :) 

I was a couple minutes late, but to be fair, I had no idea it was a huge building (with little to no signs) and not in the suite # that was listed on their website. And I had to wait for 5 minutes to be checked in. So, I checked in at 8:26 and the lady gave me a hard time, saying it was sched for 8:20 & I was supposed to be 10 minutes early for ppw. Yea, yea... I know, I wanted to say, but I did point out that there directions were crappy. She said she was sorry that they didn't explain better on the phone, but I was now late, so I had to wait for them to fit me in. So, I try to be cool about it & sit & read a book on my phone. They called me back at 9:15. I was pretty frustrated inside, but the lady who took me & back was so sweet I just dropped it. 

And she took such good care of me & talked me through the whole process that it was over before I knew it, lol. And it wasn't bad at all. Uncomfortable, yes... But not bad. So, thanks to all my sweet friends for the encouragement. :)

And it seems it's time to tuck in my princess...so I will wish everyone a Happy Manning Wednesday & Goodnight!

I love a day off. :) No matter how busy I am during it. It is nice to not have to wake up at 4:40. 

Poor John took most of the day off, he's not feeling his best. But he is resting well & trying to recover. :) he doesn't do well with just resting, lol. That man isn't happy unless he's working on something and busy. 

Maddie's cough is better, I only heard her cough twice tonight. Cross your fingers! 

I have a fun milestone tomorrow morning....not really :/

My first mammogram is sched for tomorrow. I'm not a wuss, but not looking forward to it, lol. 

So, that about all that's on my mind today. Well, let's just say that's all I can put on here. :)

Well, it's been a long day. I just got home late from work, about an hour overdue. I missed tucking in my baby girl. :(

Oh well. 

John is sick now & not feeling so hot. 

So he is in bed too. My Sadie-girl was the only one waiting up for me. She sure has a cute wagging butt though, and is happy to see me. :) Dogs rule. 

Closing in on the last week of meds! I'm getting excited about that. But I'm too tired to really write about it right now.

Really wish I could say "yay Broncos" :( 

I guess I should be glad I didn't see the game. Oh well, what can you do? Nobody is great all the time. Hopefully they will be better next week. 

It was a good workday for me :) and tomorrow is another one. I hope the drive in is ok. It was cold & very windy with icy rain on the way home. It's supposed to get colder, was already below freezing when I got home. And everyone knows that most Texans can not drive worth  a damn when there is the slightest hint of winter weather. 

Maddie has had a good day, that's what John tells me anyway. She is tucked in & ready to go back to school. She still has the nasty cough, but I have a feeling that it won't be going away for a while.

Wow...I have written something every night for 200 days. Again I say, wow. Just 9 more days, and I'll be finished with the Rifampin!! :) yahoo!

I really dislike the cold weather, especially when I'm stuck inside for 3 days straight with a sick girl who just wants to go outside & play. Don't get me wrong, I did bundle her up each day & let her go play for a few minutes, but not for very long since she is still coughing (a very nasty sounding cough). I think she is going a little crazy. No fever today (yay), but the cough seems to be worse. I switched from the Mucinex Cold to Dimetapp today. Maybe it will help. This cough needs to get better, because this little girl is going to school on Monday! 

Tomorrow is a work day. I hate working weekends, even more so when I'm worried about Maddie. But I am sure a break is needed. 

Tomorrow is also Football Sunday! Yay! The sad news is there is absolutely no way I will be able to watch my Broncos, the Texans & Cowgirls will both have their games at the same time on CBS. :( boo

I missed last week too! 

I wonder if the NFL app will work right tomorrow, if so I might be able to watch some of it. Otherwise I will just be watching the drives & hitting refresh on my phone, lol.

Today was chicken day. I picked up 120 lbs of chicken breasts...delivered 40 lbs to my sis & came back home to package my 80 lbs. and rearrange the deep freezer... Which is in the garage & the garage was already 40some-odd degrees. Lol! My fingers still feel cold. But it is all finished, and I made chicken & rice soup with rolls for dinner, so that warmed me up. :)

Little Miss Maddie Moo decided to wake up at 0200....and would not go back to sleep. After pleading with her for a while, I finally gave in at 0400 & turned on the Disney Jr channel. I was so tired & needed some sleep, even if she didn't think she did. So, as you would expect, she has been a fuss pot this afternoon. I pray that she sleeps tonight...I'm pretty cranky myself, lol. 

Her cough is still pretty yucky, but no fevers today. Cross those fingers that we are getting over the hump. 

I am trying to talk her into sleep soon. I am ready for my bed. 

My Rifampin days are numbered & the end is coming fast! Yay! I'm ready to feel somewhat normal!

Sick kid day at home...fun times. Not to mention it was freezing pretty much all day. Of course I wouldn't let her go outside at all, so she wasn't very happy with me. She doesn't quite understand being sick & it being too cold outside. 

She told me today that she "hates having fevers" 

Lol... Me too, honey! She still sounds pretty junky & is feverish. But she was in good spirits for most of the day. And then Daddy went to the store on his way home & brought some "sticky bagels" so he is her favorite person right now. :) 

I'm just trying to get her to take in lots of fluids & giving her mucinex to get rid of the junk. She obviously won't be going to school tomorrow, so it will be another sick day. 

And tomorrow is already going to be busy...it is a Zaycon pickup day. I've got to process & package 80 lbs of chicken breasts...and take an extra case of 40 lbs to my sister. :) woo hoo! I'm just glad I'm about to have chicken again, I really wanted to make chicken & rice soup or chicken & dumplings today. It's on for tomorrow! 

Speaking of the cold weather...it is extremely too cold in Colorado right now. Ruth & Rich...can y'all do something about that before we come up? Lol

I think I might become a Popsicle if I'm in weather that cold. :) 

Ok guys, that's about it for today. I worked on my knitting skills (lmao) today...and that's all. So there's nothing new.

It was just a matter of time.... Come home from a busy work day with all kinds of ups & downs. And Maddie is cuddled up with daddy... And I knew something was wrong. 

I are some yummy chili that my talented hubby made... And then Maddie told me that she doesn't feel good & that she has a fever. And sure enough...

And then she asked me if she could go to bed early. That isn't normal. 

So, boo. A friend of mine has her son at the childrens hospital now...another just finished getting her daughter over a virus the last week. I do not want her to be sick! :(

Well, there is nothing like having a dentist appt on your day off :) 

Just kidding, I really love my dentist & the entire office. They have always taken care of me & always helped whenever I have had any pain. I had to kill some time waiting for my dentist appt though, so I decided to go shopping. 

Wow. 

It is already busy in stores at 10 am. I couldn't believe how busy. And the rudeness of people is unbelievable! This is why I hate shopping...you have to be around people! Lol. I'm so not a people person. (Shocking, I know) 

My Resting Bitchy Face was is full force today. 

And then I got to have lunch with my BFF! That made it all better. Especially since I haven't seen her in weeks. It's nice to just be comfortable in your own skin with someone. It was a short visit due to my appt, but I got to see her & her sweet girl. :) 

Fast forward to Maddie coming home & John tells me about his chat with her teacher. I guess this morning they went outside to play (on a wind advisory morning due to the front blowing in & it is ~42, lol) and Maddie was cold because the sun wasn't up and her jacket wasn't heavy enough. Oh hellfire! Now I'm feeling like a terrible mom cause I sent her to school in a fleece lined med-weight jacket... Instead of a huge parka or something...oh wait, that's right, we live in Texas! I'll be sure she is in a heavier  down coat tomorrow. Maybe they should have taken the hint & just took her inside if she was too cold to play. 

But I seriously don't buy that for a second, she was wanting to run around out back chasing the cat this afternoon without a heavy coat...or shoes lol. Not that I let her, I did make her come back in & bundle up & put on shoes other than my crocs. Her little motto is always "it's not too cold for me"  She's a stinker, lol. 

I am worried about her getting sick, she's had a mild cough & a ton of drainage the last couple days...but the cough has been worse tonight. And she seems to be losing her voice. Albuterol here we come. :(  She has been so well lately it's easy to forget about the asthma. I hope she pushes through this, my allergies have been bugging me too, so hopefully it will pass. Cross those fingers. 

Let's hope I don't end up with the "mommy of the year" award, lol. 

There is not much more to my day than that. I am ready to head to bed myself. Two days of work ahead of me. :)

Monday Night Football... Eh...no one especially interesting playing, but it's football, right? :) After working 12 hrs it's nice to come home & watch football. Oh wait, I have a child to get ready for bed, lol. Scratch that.

Well, my craziness forgetfulness was completely evident today. About 9 or 10 days ago I put all the recent mail in my work bag to take to work & pay bills during my lunch break. And completely forgot, every single day since. 

And there was something very important in that mail & I really felt like an ass when I saw that it has just been sitting in my bag, carried back & forth to work several times. I don't know how I can be so scatter-brained at times! I really hope I didn't screw something up with my forgetting. 

Oh & darn it, none of my bills are late, but close now, lol. Paying bills stinks. :) 

Onto another topic, do I really only have 14 days left?? I'm super excited about that! :) I'm sure that will start to become redundant these next two weeks. 

And that's about all that is on my mind right now. I am just gonna read until it's time to take my meds. Goodnight friends!

Go Broncos! :) I guess no one thought the game warranted coverage so I didn't get to see it. And my NFL app kept jacking up & wouldn't show it either. Oh well. At least they won.

My little cheesehead. 

Well, we got the greenhouse set up & moved all the portable plants into it. I harvested what I could of the peppers & tomatoes...

I know this cold front is coming this week...I hate to say goodbye to my plants, but the time has come. I'm hoping to be able to cover the smaller garden & keep the lettuce & onions growing well. 

My sweet hubby spent a lot of time running irrigation lines to the greenhouse and making a counter-height l-shaped table for in there. He's such a good guy. :) 

And, darn these allergies! It hit me late last night & darnit!! My throat and ears and mouth are all itchy, along with a sore throat. I don't know what blew in, but man it stinks. 

Health-wise that's all I can complain about. And that is a good thing. Allergies come & go...it's part of life down here.

Well it's about Maddie's bedtime. Need to get her tucked in & read to. Goodnight friends!

16 more days... I am so ready to be finished with taking antibiotics! And the other meds needed to offset the abx side effects. The  end is near and I can see the light! :)

Had a fantastic dinner with family tonight! It was great & I was very happy to see everyone. And I got some pretty cool birthday presents! Thanks guys!! I love them all! 

Our little princess had all she could take tonight. She was out once we were in the car for 3 minutes & driving home, and didn't stir on the way in the house to bed. She is one tired puppy! But she really enjoyed dinner too! I'm sure she will be all smiles in the morning. 

I have to say that I am very blessed. I have an amazing family & great friends...and my life is looking pretty good from where I'm sitting. I don't know exactly how I got here, I'm just glad to be in a good place.

Friday - day off! :) it was nice to not have to so anything or leave the house! But I have to work tomorrow...

Maddie has been bugging me for months to teach her how to knit. No matter how many times I tried to explain that I don't know how to knit... I only know how to crochet... It doesn't seem to matter, she never gets it, lol. So I bought a couple kits to teach myself & her to knit. Whew! Fun times around here. It only took about an hour for me to get down the whole "cast on" thing... And then trying to teach a 5 year old. What was I thinking!? I am determined to learn & to eventually teach her. I taught her to cast on & that's as far as we got today. I just balled up some yarn that isn't likely to be used... And she can play with it. And I want to just get my crochet hooks out & use one instead! Lol!  I guess I forgot that I'm a pretty crappy teacher. Poor kid. 

That is about the most fun that we had today. Not much else happened. We are just lounging around now & getting wound down for bedtime.

Oh, I am super excited about my cucumbers! I cut these babies off the vine this afternoon! (I have them beside Maddie's glasses)

Maddie's eye dr appt went very well this morning. The dr is happy with the progress we are making with her "lazy eye" and we don't have to go back for a whole year! She will still wear her glasses & when we go back next year we will recheck her eyes & see where she is. How fantastic is that!?! Yay for good news! 

Well, that's about all I've got. I'm gonna finish her bedtime routine & tuck her in.

I only worked half the shift, so I went shopping this morning with Shannon first.  She drug me to Hobby Lobby, where I may have been overly excited about Christmas & the Christmas stuff being 50% off. We are going to have a beautiful Christmas in this house this year! And it won't be just because I will be able to drink wine whenever the hell I want either! :)

It was another dreary rainy day...blah. Yes, we need the rain, but I don't want rain & cold. That is just not cool in my book. 

Well, I got home later than normal & barely was able to tuck in Maddie. We have a follow up with ther eye dr in the morning. Cross your fingers!

Good Evening! It has been another long, fun day at work & I am glad to be home. It has been such a dreary day down here...rainy & gloomy...Shan & I were both ready to go home at like 1500! 

But, we had to wait for night shift...the life of a nurse. 

I realized today that I never did a blog about the 2013 TB stats. I'm sure all my friends are eagerly waiting to read about that, but I'm just pooped out tonight. It is coming, before the end of my 20 more days!! 

I just put Maddie to bed & just need to let Sadie outside a last time tonight before calling it a night.

Monday night. 

Just a normal day around here, worked all day & then came home in time to tuck in Maddie. And then go to sleep & do it all over again tomorrow.

Goodbye lazy Sunday! 

It was a nice weekend, the only productive things I did today was working in the garden & repotting a few plants... Oh & cooking dinner, let's not forget that, lol. 

It was nice while it lasted, now I have to get ready for 3 in a row. Boo

And I have an apology to make to all the Broncos fans out there. It is plain to see that Peyton was feeling blue that he missed seeing me for my birthday...and the entire team must have picked up on that & felt sad for him. So I am sorry for the loss tonight. :( 

I guess you can't win them all, right?

Today is C's birthday! Third birthday in a row for this fam. The majical birthday weekend is ending. :( 

My only complaint is a headache since Saturday morning. But it hasn't been too bad. And I am sure I only have 22 days or so left of these headaches (at least I hope). 

And, if you can't tell, I didn't take my ADD med again today. Hence the different tangent of thought every other sentence. So just smile & nod & everything will be ok. :) I will be as close to normal as I ever am tomorrow morning.

I had a fantastic day with John & Maddie...pretty much didn't have to do anything except take a bubble bath. (Of course Maddie found me & had to join me after my 5 minutes alone, lol) Nice

Then met my sis & Payton for dinner. 

John bought be a beautiful sapphire necklace. :) As I said before, it's been a great day! I had so many Happy Birthday wishes on fb & by text. I feel very loved today. It is a very nice feeling. 

We are wrapping up the day watching Scooby Doo with Maddie! 

I am gonna turn off my electronics & have more family fun. And I've got to rest up for my cheering for the Broncos tomorrow!

Hello friends & Happy Thursday! 

I am a happy girl. Got to have dinner with two sweet friends.... One came all the way from Kentucky to celebrate my upcoming 25th birthday! ;) I have missed my girl Stef since July. It was nice to have girl time & chat about fun stuff. And she brought me a bag full of presents that rock! I will have to post pics tomorrow! I also got a pretty cool gift from Shan. Well, had a partial work day & early dinner, & am writing this while ticking down the minutes til I can take my 95 dose of Rifampin. Holy hell, that's a lot of doses!

Crazy days. 

Fast, busy & crazy days at work lately. The crazy usually comes from my coworkers ;) 

Ok sometimes from me. We have been truckin on along lately... And I ended up working a little later than normal tonight...and came home to a dark house. I missed tucking in my princess. 

Oh well. 

What I didn't miss was walking thru a spider web in the dark garage & into the dark house. Although I have brushed my hair & washed my face & changed clothes....I still keep feeling like there is a spider crawling on me somewhere & any minute I will see it & freak out! Lol. Every strand of hair brushing across my shoulder gives me a start. I'm such a brave one, huh? Yuck! I just feel gross. 

Anyway, other than that all is well. Just gonna kill some time until I can take my Rifampin & go to bed. I have a book to finish reading. I'll just see if I can do that without screaming, thinking I see a spider.

Today was a productive day. John got lots of things done around the house & so did I. Maddie just HAD to swim again...silly girl. 

I have been watching football since 9 am! Pretty cool football day! I've been rooting for Donnalee's bumblebees...er, I mean Steelers this afternoon. And it's almost Packers time! Time to get the cheesehead out! Go Pack Go!

I am very interested to see if Colt starts tomorrow against the Cowboys, and if so, how he does. I'll have to see after I get off work. 

Health wise, I think this last month is going to go well! :) some headaches is my only complaint.  Let's hope that will be the worst of it.

Some days at work just rock... Working with the best co-workers & an amazing doc (one of my faves) = a great day. And having babies & taking great care of them is great too. :) 

I even had a visit from John & Maddie today at work...how could it not be an awesome day? Some days are so great they help me forget all the days that suck...the days that aren't so fun, or aren't full of laughter & good natured ribbing. And when all of the families are sweet & kind...wow. :)

Friday Night fun at the 4J... Making cake balls & watching Disney Jr, lol. 

Took a super long nap this morning after taking Maddie to school, that was nice & well deserved. And I haven't really done much else, a pretty lazy day. 

We went to dinner at a brewery in MF. Maybe I have high expectations, idk. It wasn't very impressive. The food was so-so & I only liked one of the beers, and that is saying a lot. John got a flight of all their brews, eh. So I'm a little disappointed, but it could have been worse. We can now say we have been there & done that. 

Have to work tomorrow, I hate working when the family is home. Boo. 

And that is just about everything in my head tonight....for reals. Pretty boring. But hey, the cake balls taste good :)

Ah, what a Saturday! We had a nice big family lunch for my niece Payton's birthday & them went to see my grandma. Of course we were promptly put to work... My sister too, lol. 

Once we finally escaped we headed home to work at our place. And then John did some work on moms house & I started on my new "root" garden. I only had to work by myself for a short while before Maddie & John started helping... Ok so John really started doing all the hard work & I got to ease off a little :) 

It's nice being married to a hard working man! We almost finished the clearing. Now just have to prep & plant! Coming later this week....spring onions! Planting them anyways, lol.

I was on call for work today so I tackled my poor neglected garden. My tomatoes are in a competition with the strawberries to see which one can invade everything, lol! I trimmed everything up & made it look a little more presentable :)

I also have about a dozen rogue tomato plants if anyone is interested.. They just keep popping up everywhere, lol. It really is a battle field out there ;)

39 doses left! And then life can be normal again!!! Errrr...kinda, lol

I am so excited & ready to be finished with this chapter on my life. I will gladly continue to do research & help educate people about TB. So here is a not so fun fact...TB is way more contagious & older & prevalent than Ebola. Do not freak out about Ebola... Worry about Measles, Pertusis, The freaking flu or TB...these things kill more than Ebola. 

Remember in history lessons/old books/older generations talk about "consumption" or the "white plague"?? That is TB... It is a super crazy old bacteria that has morphed & changed & killed more people than you can imagine. In 2012 there were 9 million (that's a hell of a lot) new cases of TB diagnosed... Out of that... There were 1.3 MILLION deaths due to TB in 2012!!! Hello!! Isn't that a hell of a lot scarier than the 50 deaths caused from Ebola in 2012. Or the ~4500 deaths during this 2013-2014 Ebola outbreak. 

In 2012 measles killed over 122,000 people!! These are global numbers people..not just US, but clearly there are larger killers than Ebola out there that could benefit from some attention. Ebola does have a 50% death rate...which is higher than some other viruses/bacteria, but it can be contained & it will be. Have faith. Unless some anti-vax parents decide it would be good to have Ebola parties (like the chicken pox ones they enjoy throwing nowadays)... Lol ;)

I am totally kidding there, I am confident tha no parent would willingly expose their child to Ebola, but trying to break up the seriousness of my rant :) 

I do hope that the poor kids who end up getting chicken pox/varicella from these parties bitch-slap their parents when they get shingles later in life... Because shingles really sucks & they are basically setting them up for the horrific pain it entails later in life during an outbreak.. But whew! They sure dodged a bullet by not making their poor child get a little poke & a terrible "nasty chemical" vaccine. Good call parents, good call. Go  back to eating your homemade granola bar now...lol

So anyways...on the homemade thing...I made some homemade dog shampoo for Sadie today! ;) yay me! But I am not crunchy...my friends and family can guaran-freaking-tee that! I just like opting for easier/cheaper/nicer to my dog things from time to time. 

But don't forget... I know how to & have made butter all by lonesome before! Well, Maddie did help a little, so that's not entirely true. But I did it... And it tasted so yummy. I might just have to do it again. :) I can kinda be a rock star at times... But that's just me talking. 

We went & watched Payton cheer at her homecoming game tonight! Here is a not very close pic...

I really need to take some in to work to sell, lol. The girls are just popping them out, we had run of of egg cartons, but I scored some at the Bertram library. :) Love small towns :)

So I will be coming with armloads of eggs on Wednesday! :)

And I hate to say this, but I am rooting for anyone playing the Seahawks...even the (eek) Cowboys! They Seahawks seem to be terrible sportsmen...and the history with the Broncos...needless to say I was happy to see them knocked down a notch. :) 

Besides all of that...Maddie decided that the water was (wait for it)... "Not too cold for me"

Thursday Night Football! 

Football is good :)

It's been an "eh" kind of day. 

I switched back to my old iPhone, the Samsung Note 3 kept dropping calls...like every two minutes. It was super frustrating. I tried several fixes, but nope. It just didn't want to work for me. So I got my phone switched over. 

Yay for no more dropped calls! 

Gave Sadie a bath... And vacuumed...that's about all my head let me do. There has been a tremendous amount of pressure in the very back of my head. I have taken way too many of those pain pills today to try to kill it, but the score is Jeanie:0  Head pain:1

That's fine, I'll admit defeat & go to bed, lol. 

Stole this from my BFF...it is totally her. I can hear her saying that. :) 

It is true, let's try to be kind to everyone. Everyone has a battle. 

So, I found out that someone I work with has had recurrent shingles also...so it's good to know someone else (who is still alive) who has had this problem. It's not just me!!! No matter what some people think. Lol. 

Ok, so just want all of my friends to say a prayer for my step-grandfather (?) 

My stepdads father had surgery today & is recovering in ICU. Prayers & well wishes are appreciated. :)

Ok, another day down :)

Thank you everyone for all of the kind words & encouragement.  I really appreciate it. This situation is the pits, but it could be worse. I know a lot of people going through far worse. 
So I will try not to complain. Try being the key word. :)
To answer a few questions. ..

Yes, most people who get shingles only get them once (90%).
Everyone knows that I have the fantastic odds, lol.

The vaccine is generally for people over 50 & who haven't had shingles  yet. Although my doc told me that "they" are doing studies now for people with recurrent shingles getting the shot. He said it's not guaranteed to keep you from getting shingles, but can make it less severe.  We are going to touch base on that topic again after I'm done with the TB meds.  I have family history of recurrent shingles... on top of the whole getting them young thing. So, I come by it naturally.

Yes it hurts... I have it again on my scalp, same place & same pain. This time I do have a patch on my back also, although it does not come close to comparing with the pain in my head. Thank goodness.  I am on some pain meds, thank the Lord for that. I'll probably just need them for a few days...Although the Dr is putting me on Lyrica also since I have had the
Post-herpetic neuralgia since the last episode. I am really hoping that will help stop the headaches/migraines.  Cross your fingers!

I am doing ok, well better than Ok on the meds, lol...getting a lot done around the house. The only time it's really bad is when I wake up (at least today its been like that). So I'm pretty sure every day is going to get better.
Positive thoughts lead to positive actions...right? :)

I had a good day with Maddie, we had a long conversation with Frick & Frack (the donkeys) and had snacks together. :)

My little sweet girl was so "not tired" that she feel asleep before I got to 2 minutes on her countdown. Silly girl! And as I sit here writing this I am about to fall asleep, lol

Ok guys, ready for my pity party?

I have shingles......again.....for the 3rd time....in a freaking year!

This really really sucks. :( The pain started Sunday, the real "feels like there is a brick growing in my head & it's going to explode" kind of pain. And yesterday the tingling pins & needles-like sensation started, and then the "my head is on fire & it's slowly spreading towards my eye" heat began...and I knew without a doubt last night.  :(

So I went to the Dr this morning & it is confirmed. Now to most people it sucks but not the hindrance it is to me. Seeing as how the main population you have to stay away from (pregnant women,  babies & preemies) is the population I serve, I can't work. And that sucks.

As if the TB weren't enough to deal with, lets add more pain, stress & meds to the situation. Fun times.

Now don't get me wrong...I am very thankful for the pain meds, just hate that there are like 6 more pills a day to take. I swear I'm going on a pill strike when I am done with the Rifampin crap. :)

The good part is that I got to the doc early & so far only have 1 small cluster of lesions. Hopefully that will be all there is. And hopefully I won't miss too much work.

Sorry for the short post yesterday, was super tired & went to bed early & realized I had forgotten to post. Yesterday was a good Saturday :)
John & Maddie took a nice dip in the pool. I just watched, and maybe played candy crush.
It was a nice day to unwind after the craziness of work lately. I have to say that I work with some amazing people! Dr., RN, RT, tech, secretary.. they all rock. I work most closely with 3 of the most awesome pedi's...I am surely blessed to be surrounded by them. They are the hands that guide us, they listen as we (mainly me) sometimes repeatedly advocate for our babies(even when they think we may be coo coo for cocoa puffs) and they respect us. They are so very talented & strong. I wouldn't know what to do without them. All of us have made them mad (& vice versa) & they still care.

I know we don't always show it, but we love you guys (Erin & the Amy's) and are super proud to work beside you. I would put my child in your hands any day & trust you completely. Actually, I already have trusted Maddie to Amy the 1st, when she was born 4 weeks early. :) It's not easy for Dr's to work in a level II with headstrong nurses every-single-day...not to mention that in the nicu it's always two of us! But they do it & they do it well! I thank God that I have been led to where I am now, which is beside each of these drs... (and the nurses & RT's & techs, etc...but that's another days thanksgiving post)

Today is about my pediatricians! You guys are rock stars! I will admit to wanting to stomp some toes once or twice, but for the most part I love yall! Thank you for being you!

Not to offend any of my other Dr friends...you guys rock too. We have just had a lot of hurdles to jump lately & our team has done so well. My docs just don't always get the credit that they deserve.
Overall I am lucky to have worked with the majority of coworkers that I have had the opportunity to work with...Every person teaches me something new. In my health care career I have met some amazing people... (and the world's most awesome BFF) and have learned so very much that can't be taught in a classroom. And I get the privilege of having people trust me to help them & their babies. It is the best job in the world...The fact that my supervisor is the most fantastic one ever kinda rocks too!

Anyway, I guess the point is that I love all of my coworkers/friends & am very blessed. And the Broncos won! :) And Peyton Manning broke another record! What a great Sunday!

What a nice day off.  I really didn't do too much of anything, took Maddie to school this morning & came home & tried to nap. my mind was so heavy from yesterday I couldn't really sleep, so I just read a book.

Speaking of, I just finished "Sense & Sensibilty" wow! I do prefer Pride & Prejudice to it, but it was a good book.  I try to think of the time that the book was written & it seems impossible for Jane Austen to be so witty & such a fantastic writer back then.  What a difference 200 years makes! I hate to think that she died so young & unaware of the fame/respect to come. I'm sure she must have know that she was a great author. Anyways, it is difficult to get into the writing/sayings, but so very worth it. It was another classic that I always wanted to read.

On my way back this morning I took a pic of Frack talking to the neighbors...A llama & then a sheep was walking up when I took the pic. Have I ever mentioned that I love living in the country? :)

And the weather! I must admit I did not care for the 57° this morning, but this afternoon & evening have been amazing! An open windows kind of day! The crickets will be singing me to sleep tonight!

So last night I had a dream about Eli Manning...weird, huh? Lol
I remember Maddie walked up to him before I realized it & said "mommy look! It's Peytons brother!" And of course (in my dream) Eli said. .. "That's all I ever am, just Peytons brother"
So we had a conversation about how good of a qb he is & blah blah blah! What a crazy dream!
And then I was bra shopping this afternoon & the lady measuring my "girls" noticed my shirt (&purse & toenails) and asked if I like Peyton.... well duh! Lol
But she started telling me all about how she loves Eli & the Giants! Lol, fun times!

Tuesday...ready to say goodbye to you & hello to BFF Wed!  Tomorrow I have a date with my BFF...and it is long overdue!  I am ready to have good girl talk & food!

I ended my affair with my iPhone today & am writing this from my galaxy note! It is a whole different world, and I'm just starting to feel OK with it . Bear with me if it isn't like normal, lol.

So, Maddie just had to "accidentally" get wet in the pool, so she ended up going for a swim this afternoon.  Everything was going great until... bam!!!
She swam into a bench.. With her nose...ouch!!!! (to be fair, she didn't have her goggles on & we always tell her to wear googles if she is opening her eyes under water) :(
So, my poor girl is probably going to have black eyes in the morning. She already has scratches,bruising  & a large bump on her nose...I don't think she will be able to wear her glasses for a few days. Poor thing. I felt so bad for her, & couldn't do anything to help. I kept trying to put the ice pack on it, but of course it hurt more.

So that is the highlight of my day. I really hope tomorrow is better.

Just kidding...but I did work super duper hard today...yay for NICU! 

I don't have too terribly much to say tonight...really tired & ready to turn in for the night.

I've been working my buns off today! :) I enjoy busy workdays that keep me hopping

Happy Saturday! :) 

Completely laid back here at our house. Maddie & I potted a few plants & pulled a few weeds in the garden, but otherwise we were pretty lazy. Daddy did his usual hard days work..did a lot of yard work, went to work early this morning & ran errands on the way home. Oh yea, he also picked up a kitten on the way home. 

A cute little orange kitty, about 6 months old and full of piss & vinegar! Lol. He is pretty cute. He will prob end up being a garage cat with Oranges, but until he gets settled he is in the house. Yippee for litter boxes! (Not really) 

So that's pretty much what has been going on here today. John & Maddie did go for a dip in the pool today, it didn't last too long. Too cold for me to even consider, lol. I made a small fire (which John later remedied to a moderate one) in the chimnea to warm them up after the swim.  Besides cooking dinner & doing dishes, that's pretty much been my day. Nice! :) 

I have to work tomorrow so I'm hitting the sack now. Goodnight friends!

First day of month 3!

It was a busy day... Worked a tad bit late & made it home in time to read Madison two bedtime stories... :) one of them was from her infant caretaker, Mrs. Karen. :) it had a note written from her first birthday, she enjoyed that part. 

That was nice to make her happy, especially since her school day ended bad. What's the worst part about bringing something to show-n-tell? When someone takes it from your cubby.. Yep, she got to show her toy earlier to the class & slept with it at naptime, but it wasn't in her cubby when it was time to go. :(   Life is full of lessons... I'm glad it wasn't one of her favorite dolls. 

Oh well, at least the day ended good with laughs & kisses. :) There is something to be said for that. 

It's about time to take those red pills... In case anyone is wondering, yes I am still having yucky headaches, I just am choosing to not complain...er..at least I'm  trying very hard. Lol. Tonight is another trying night as far as that goes but I am tired of complaining about everything. Just saying that to clear up that they didn't majically disappear, and there hasn't been a majic cure. End of complaint. 

Tomorrow is Saturday & we are off. I'm ready to have a great family day. :) I hope everyone has a great day tomorrow & sweet dreams tonight. Goodnight friends!
